I told Kevin. He was in total agreement. From then on, the event would be called The Return.

The Storm Gathering

As the time of The Return approached, the shakings that had come upon the nation showed little signs of abating. The plague was still raging; the summer of fires, riots, demonstrations, and violence had further traumatized the nation; much of life was still shut down, and many still kept hidden behind the walls of their homes.

That September, The Harbinger II was released. It spoke not only of the progression of the mystery and the continuing signs of national judgment but also of the past days of prayer and sacred assembly that had altered the nation’s course. Now we were planning another. Would it affect the future? I had cautioned others that with such things, the impact is not often seen at the time but in later days and that regardless of the result, we were called to take God at His word and do what He called us to do.

When I Send a Plague

There were signs of something unique concerning The Return. The sacred assembly called for in Joel takes place against the backdrop of a plague that had come upon the land. So The Return would take place against the backdrop of a plague on the land.

The context of the most famous of verses on national repentance, 2 Chronicles 7:14, is this:

When I…send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray…7
